Meet the Editor of PainFile
Editor-in-Chief: Brian T. Boies, MD, FASA
Dr. Brian Boies is the Chief Academic Officer and DIO at Cone Health in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Boies graduated cum laude from Rice University in Houston with a BS in Bioengineering. He then attended medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas, after which he joined UT Health San Antonio for his residency in Anesthesiology. During his last year of residency, he was elected chief resident, and subsequently, he completed his fellowship in Pain Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. Before starting at Cone Health, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at UT Health San Antonio, practicing a mixture of anesthesiology and acute and chronic pain management. During this time, he also obtained a Master of Business Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has been heavily involved in medical education throughout his career, holding roles such as Residency Program Director, Vice Chair of Education, and Assistant Dean of Education and Innovation for Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Boies is also a strong advocate for the use of evidence-based medicine and utilizes his formal training in this as the editor-in-chief for PainFile, a pain medicine article abstracting service provided by Dannemiller, Inc.
