Intended Audience

This educational activity is intended for pain medicine specialists and other allied health care professionals interested in emerging and controversial topics in the practice of pain and pain management.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role of regenerative medicine (platelet-rich plasma, stem cells, etc.) in chronic pain management
  • Understand novel spinal cord stimulator therapies (high frequency, burst stimulation, dorsal root ganglia stimulation, etc.) and the evidence supporting their use.
  • Explain the pathogenesis of discogenic pain and novel treatment options such as biacuplasty.
  • Describe novel radiofrequency ablative techniques (i.e. cooled radiofrequency ablation) and potential novel targets.
  • Appreciate how to incorporate novel treatment options into your practice through increasing referrals and alternative payment models.
  • Critically appraise a research paper to decide if a new therapy is appropriate for use in a given patient population.

Method of Participation

This program consists of lectures, enhanced by slide presentations, daily question and answer periods with ARS, and a digital syllabus. The course sessions will provide an update of current pain management practices. This program offers ample opportunity for the participants to interact one-on-one with the faculty throughout the conference
