Meredith Stensland, PhD, LMSW

Meredith Stensland, PhD, LMSW, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a PhD in social work (2017) and a Master's degree in social work from University of Northern Iowa (2013). Her research focuses on identifying and treating psychosocial factors that affect outcomes among patients undergoing spinal procedures for chronic low back pain. As a licensed social worker, her clinical experience includes hospice, geropsychiatry, and chronic pain group therapy.
