Intended Audience

This educational program is intended for residents in anesthesiology, practicing anesthesiologists, CRNAs in training or practice, and other anesthesia care professionals interested in emerging and controversial topics in the practice of anesthesiology.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to:

  • Discuss strategies to enhance perioperative safety
  • Review the important role of the perioperative physician in guiding the patient through the phases of preoperative, intraoperative care, and post operative care
  • Examine the key skill sets that the modern anesthesiologist brings to demonstrate value to stakeholders
  • Discuss a framework for modern cardiac anesthesiology
  • Review best practices for perioperative ACLS
  • Summarize and review the current state of the art of current knowledge of pediatric anesthetic issues and pediatric regional anesthesia
  • Survey critical care medicine and the role of anesthesiologists in the field
  • Provide an update on neuroanesthesia

Method of Participation

This program consists of lectures, enhanced by slide presentations. The course sessions will provide an opportunity to gain knowledge about emerging and controversial topics in the practice of anesthesiology. This program offers ample opportunity for the participants to interact one-on-one with the faculty throughout the conference.
