Intended Audience

This course is intended for practitioners who identify themselves as practicing Pain Management/Medicine Physicians who seek skill improvement and/or to develop new skills in interventional pain techniques. MDs, DOs, Anesthesiologists, physicians in Pain Management and Physiatrists will benefit from this educational activity.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to: At the conclusion of this program participants will be able to:

  • Apply techniques for optimizing imaging and needle localization while using fluoroscopic guidance
  • Recognize optimal techniques for lumbar epidural steroid injections
  • Identify differences between conventional radiofrequency ablation, cooled radiofrequency ablation, and pulsed radiofrequency treatment and their uses in pain medicine
  • Demonstrate multiple ablative interventional procedures, specifically lumbar facet and sacroiliac joint ablations, and hip and knee articular branch ablation
  • Investigate advanced spinal cord stimulation implantation and trial techniques
  • Prepare advanced spinal cord augmentation techniques
  • Demonstrate advanced facial injections, such as trigeminal nerve and sphenopalatine ganglion blocks and ablations.

Method of Participation

The goal of this educational initiative is to assure a unique and individualized learning experience. This activity will provide a complete overview of current clinical practice strategies that participants can implement into their own practice. The workshop will consist of hands-on practice with a small group in a training lab using human tissue. Participants will have access to clinical equipment and learn from skilled health care mentors.
