Statement of Independence Since it's founding in 1984, the Dannemiller Foundation has been an accredited provider of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). This allows the Dannemiller Foundation to grant Category 1 Continuing Medical Education Credit for all educational activities that we sponsor. As an accredited sponsor, the Dannemiller Foundation carefully adheres to the Essential Areas and policies of the ACCME as well as the policies and guidelines established by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Dannemiller Foundation maintains adherence to the PhRMA Code and OIG guidelines as well. All educational activities sponsored by the Dannemiller Foundation are scientifically rigorous, carefully referenced, and free of commercial bias. The Dannemiller Foundation has a vast network of physician thought-leaders that we use to develop the educational activities we sponsor. These physicians are some of the finest clinicians and academicians in the world today. Each is dedicated to the provision of quality educational programs to their fellow physicians on the topics that they want and need to improve the quality of healthcare provided to patients. With regard to the foregoing, the Dannemiller Foundation each year directly sponsors approximately 80 to 100 CME activities, and jointly sponsors with non-accredited sponsors, approximately 150 plus CME activities. Directly sponsored activities include both commercially supported activities as well as those paid by physician participants. Our programs are presented in almost every media to meet the needs of physicians and other healthcare professionals. With respect to jointly sponsored CME activities, the Foundation works with non-accredited organizations to develop and accredit educational activities. These activities cover the spectrum of therapeutic areas including, but not limited to psychiatry, dermatology, cardiology, all forms of cancer, surgery, pain management, anesthesiology, infectious diseases, urology, pulmonology, rheumatology, orthopedics, and ophthalmology. Commercial support, provided primarily by the Pharma industry, has come during the past year from such supporters as AstraZenica, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Pfizer, Amgen, Roche, Merck, Glaxo SmithKline, Baxter, Organon, Janssen, Abbott, TAP, Schering, Aventis, McNeil, Ortho-McNeil, Wyeth, Purdue, Centocor, Berlex, Genentech, Forest, Cephalon, and others. Dannemiller receives commercial funding from multiple companies in a diversified manner so as not to be dependent upon any single company to successfully operate our business. The Foundation headquarters, located in San Antonio, Texas, is staffed with experienced CME professionals who are dedicated to the development of the finest quality educational programs possible.
