Dannemiller Anesthesiology Review Course

The Dannemiller Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide category 1 credit of the AMA Physicians Recognition Award (PRA). We can also provide continuing education credit for other health care professionals including RNs, CRNAs, and Pharmacists.

In addition to developing our own CME Programs, the Dannemiller Foundation also works with non-accredited organizations to develop quality, educational programs for physicians and other healthcare professionals. The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) recognizes this type of educational activity as a jointly sponsored activity. Jointly sponsored activities can be accredited for AMA PRA category 1 credit for physicians by the accredited sponsor (Dannemiller Foundation) if the Essential Areas and policies of the ACCME are carefully followed and fully documented. The Dannemiller Foundation has developed specific policies and procedures to work with non-accredited organizations to plan, develop, conduct, distribute and document jointly sponsored educational programs. Our staff of experienced, dedicated CME professionals works closely with our joint sponsor to ensure that a quality, non-biased, educational program is developed and documented in total compliance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the ACCME.

For more information please contact the Director of the CME Department, Ed Dyer, at 210-641-8311 or 800-328-2308, fax 210-697-9318, or email at edd@dannemiller.com.

In the development of continuing medical education, the Dannemiller Memorial Educational Foundation often works with "educational partners." These partners are instrumental in allowing the Foundation to produce exceptional educational offerings. Generally, these partners are:
  1. Joint sponsors, who are non-accredited entities and co-sponsors, who are other accredited entities. These organizations are outstanding educational organizations in their own right, who agree to partner with the Dannemiller Foundation on a particular CME activity, thereby enhancing our ability to provide exceptional CME.
  2. Commercial supporters who provide financial support through educational grants that permit us to conduct or expand an activity.
Quarterly, the Dannemiller Memorial Educational Foundation publishes the "Dannemiller Partnership Newsletter." This newsletter is intended to make our educational partners aware of changes in the CME environment, to include changes in policy by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the AMA, and the government. In addition, it will provide timely updates to our educational partners on changes in our CME program as we strive to improve our ability to provide exceptional CME to physicians and other healthcare providers.

As an Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) provider, the Dannemiller Memorial Educational Foundation and our educational partners must comply with the Essential Areas, Standards and polices of the ACCME. In addition, we must comply with OIG compliance Program Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, the PhRMA Code on Interaction with Healthcare Professionals, the AMA Code of Medical Ethics, Opinion 8.061, "Gifts to Physicians from Industry," and the FDA Guidance for Industry-Supported Scientific and Educational Activities. As a result, we have established clear policies that are intended to assist us and our partners in meeting these stringent requirements.
